12 year old girl raped by maternal uncle in Sonipat village

ROHTAK: A 12 years old girl was raped by her maternal uncle in Gannaur village of Sonipat distirct on Wednesday night. The accused maternal uncle Sanjay Kumar, 35, was arrested by the police after registering a case against him.
According to information, the victim, whose mother died few years ago, used to live with her father and two siblings. The accused was also residing with them.On Thursday night, the girl was asleep inside the house alone, while the accused was sleeping on the terrace with other members of the family. At around midnight, the accused came down and committed the crime and threatened the victim of dire consequences if she revealed the truth to anyone. The girl, however, revealed the incident to her father the next morning, after which the matter was reported to the police. The police arrested the accused within hours of lodging a case under 376 (rape) of IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
